Furniture made from vestibule - stylish, visually massive interior items with lightweight weight and at an affordable price!

Tamburat, or sandwich board, is a universal material for making furniture. It has a tiered structure, where the outer layers consist of MDF, chipboard or plywood, and the inner layers are made of lightweight paper and cardboard filler. The honeycomb middle allows the tamburat to demonstrate:

  • Light weight.
  • Resistance to deformation.
  • Versatility.

It is possible to make very long or high parts from tambourate; it perfectly retains its rigid structure. To increase stability, the material can be lined with PVC film, veneer, etc.

Thanks to the unique structure of the vestibule, furniture items made from it are lighter than usual by 50 to 70%. It also makes it possible to hide cables or wiring if necessary.

Furniture made from vestibule is easy to use and can maintain its aesthetics and function for a long time. A wide range of colors allows you to fit it into the interior as naturally as possible. The abundance of textures and types is achieved due to the predisposition of tambourate to processing. Milling, drilling and sawing with this material are easy to do.

Stylish and respectable tambourate products are indistinguishable from natural wood in appearance. Minimal restrictions regarding the internal climate make it possible to purchase furniture from this material for both offices and residential premises.

We use high-quality fittings to securely connect the filler to the internal slabs, as well as modern tools to give the tambourate the required shapes.

DM-decor will help you choose vestibule furniture in accordance with your expectations and needs. We:

  • We will offer affordable and universally applicable options.
  • We will ensure that the fasteners match the type and thickness of the product.
  • We will calculate the maximum loads and tell you how to prolong the joy of your purchase.

With us you will be able to use the design capabilities of the material to the maximum, obtaining unique and attractive furniture made from vestibule. Read below about what you can order from us.

Tamburat

Tamburat is a structural slab material. It consists of two outer layers of chipboard (MDF, plywood, etc.) with an inner honeycomb paper and cardboard filling.

The main difference from other panel wood materials is lightness. Tamburat is ideal for use in places where it is necessary to reduce the load on the structure. Used for the manufacture of parts of great height or length. Used for the manufacture of home furniture, shelving, bookshelves, open-front cabinets, kitchen countertops, and commercial equipment. It is not subject to deformation under its own weight. It retains its original (straight) shape well due to its rigid structure.

Over the past 2–3 years, Russian manufacturers are increasingly turning their attention to one of the most popular European innovations – lightweight furniture boards. However, there are several reasons why Russian furniture makers are still not particularly fond of them. Tamburat has insufficient strength.

Furniture makers unreasonably assume that if there is cardboard inside a honeycomb panel, it means it is fragile, easily breaks and wrinkles. Credo specialists have been trying to “dispel” these misconceptions since 2006, explaining their mistake to manufacturers. For example, to demonstrate the strength of cardboard, you can conduct the following experiment: roll a sheet of cardboard into a tube and try to “crumple” it in a vertical position. Even with considerable effort, this is unlikely to succeed.

The cells of the Eurolight Egger slab, by analogy, have a hexagonal shape, which actually repeats the shape of the tube, but close to a rectilinear geometric shape.

The structure of several plates fastened together is stronger.

At first glance, this design will be stronger than the vestibule. But to ensure the required strength of a product made from two chipboards, it is necessary that the self-tapping screw “gets stuck” in the outer, denser layer of chipboard (when fastened with self-tapping screws). However, even selecting screws of different lengths will not guarantee this. It is also completely unknown how the slabs will “behave” in the places of fastening; they can “warp” relative to each other, which will affect a decrease in strength.

Using glue to hold together several boards also does not provide the required strength and always carries the risk that the product will simply fall apart.

1. Reduced financial costs

2. Reduced time costs during production

3. Light weight of the final product

Furniture production "Briar" presents a range of production of light furniture boards lined with Italian ARPA plastic, as well as EGER laminated chipboards with a total thickness of 38, 50, and 60 mm.

Accessories for vestibule.

Standard fittings are ordinary fittings that are used in particular with chipboard. Its use is only possible in Eurolight with a thickness of outer layers of 8 mm or when using embedded strips, when small chipboard blocks are glued to the ends of the furniture board to increase its strength. Thanks to this, it becomes possible to attach standard end fittings to a furniture piece made of vestibule, and the furniture edge does not bend even with a width of more than 35 mm.

Specialized fittings are fittings that can be used in Eurolight with both an outer layer thickness of 8 mm and less than 8 mm. Among the specialized accessories for the vestibule, one can note: a connector for countertops type M, a T-shaped profile for a sink, a VB36 Hettich coupler, a special Varianta (“Euroscrew”) Hafele screw, which, due to its shape, provides increased

Application of tambourate in furniture production.

Many furniture manufacturers have already paid attention to the growing consumer demand for furniture made from thickened slabs and have managed to test them in their production. In furniture production, two methods of using tambourate are used.

The first method is the partial use of honeycomb plates in the production of furniture. It allows furniture makers to “try” and “test” lightweight furniture boards and, with minimal changes in the production process, “revive” the furniture collection, making it more stylish and expensive. For example, you can use tambourate instead of chipboard on visible, eye-catching parts.

The second method is to make furniture entirely from honeycomb slabs. Of course, it is more difficult in terms of execution, but the result obtained exceeds all expectations. Using this method, furniture manufacturers can create fundamentally new modern collections.

Nowadays, the ergonomic shape of furniture is very relevant. Modern ergonomic furniture is a stylish design. A successful combination of smooth curved lines and unusual shapes - this gives the space laconicism, convenience and sophistication. From such a vestibule you can make various options for shelves, table tops, and chests of drawers. Furniture made from ergonomically shaped vestibule is usually very simple. There are no complicating elements here.

Compatibility of tambourate with other materials for making furniture

Tamburat goes well with all known components that are used today for the manufacture of furniture. A wide range of fastening fittings ensures compatibility of the component elements of the product, even if they are made of different materials - chipboard, MDF, plywood, natural wood, glass, mirrors, aluminum and MDF profiles, acrylic plastic, postforming, perforated metal, decorative relief plastics, etc. d.

At the same time, experts recommend using parts from a regular laminated chipboard as vertical partitions and horizontal shelves to equip closed areas of the body of tambourate products. This allows you to slightly reduce the cost of production without negatively affecting the performance and aesthetic qualities of such furniture. The open parts of the body will create a massive effect, and the internal filling of the closed areas of the structure will not in any way affect the visual characteristics of the products.

Features of sandwich furniture

The technology for producing sandwich panels appeared relatively recently and quickly gained popularity in the construction industry. Gradually, this technology began to be used in the manufacture of furniture, which is explained by the characteristics of the material.

Advantages

At the moment, there is a wide variety of building materials that are suitable for the manufacture of furniture and various interior items. All of them have both advantages and disadvantages.

When drawing up a housing project, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the advantages and features of various materials, which will allow you to make the right choice.

The sandwich design is characterized by the following advantages:

  1. Ease of processing. Any person can cut a tambourate slab, and no special tools are needed for this.
  2. Possibility of hidden installation. Explained by the density of the filler. In addition, the fastening elements are easily hidden inside the furniture without spoiling its appearance.
  3. Ability to combine with other materials. The design assumes classic fasteners. However, if very thin sheets are used, they should be mounted using special recessed fasteners.
  4. Strength. This characteristic largely depends on the characteristics of the filler. Its design involves many stiffening ribs that can easily withstand increased loads.
  5. Resistance to bending. Thin products bend easily, while remaining strong and rigid. Due to this, rounded or concave elements are often made from the material.
  6. Decorative coatings. They are available in a wide variety so that the final product can have a unique look.
  7. Light weight. Despite the large volume of parts, the products are not heavy. This feature allows the panels to be used to produce impressive structures that will not create difficulties during transportation.
  8. Availability. The cost is low.

As you can see, sandwich panels have enough positive qualities, so they are widely used.

What does tamburat consist of?

Tamburat is a lightweight frameless slab consisting of three layers. External ones can be made of chipboard, MDF or plywood, with a thickness of 3 to 8 mm. The inner layer is a honeycomb paper and cardboard filler. Just ten years ago, such designs were used quite rarely; their number on the market did not exceed 12%. Today, production capacity and the availability of material have made it possible to increase the production of tamburate, the share of which is already about 40%.

“Sandwich” - translated from English means “sandwich”. The material for furniture production has a similar design. This slab is made from tambourate with a thickness of 50 mm.

  • internal filler;
  • top and bottom front panels 10 mm thick;
  • an internal frame installed around the perimeter of the slab.

Despite the simple components, this combination allows you to achieve significant performance characteristics. This is precisely what explains the demand for this material in many areas of human activity.

What is made from tambourate?

This is a highly targeted material that is most often used in furniture production.

Tamburat is relevant for the following purposes:

  1. Creation of volumetric structures. Often, instead of chipboard, a tambourate is installed.
  2. Formation of furniture collections. Typically, they consist entirely of a sandwich. In terms of manufacturing, these are the simplest designs compared to the use of other wood-based materials. And yet the finished furniture turns out to be practical and beautiful.

Using tambourate slabs you can make almost any item. However, there is an exception: bathroom furniture cannot be created, since the material does not tolerate high humidity.

Tamburate is also classified by thickness:

  1. 32 mm. Interior doors and doors for closets are made from such panels.
  2. 38 mm. This thickness is optimal for creating shelving and cabinets. But there is a limit on the length of the shelves - from 50 to 100 cm.
  3. 50 mm. Tabletops, shelving, tables, commercial and banking equipment are made from slabs. Shelves can be more than 1.5 m long.

The optimal thickness for the material is 8 mm.

Tambourate fittings

Accessories for the vestibule are selected to order by DM-Decor specialists, based on the thickness of the sandwich plate and its further purpose. Standard fasteners used for the production of chipboard furniture can only be used with eight-millimeter outer layers or the presence of embedded strips to increase strength. In other cases, specialized fittings are required:

  • Tabletop connector;
  • Screed;
  • Profile for washing;
  • Screws;
  • And other elements.

The use of special fittings is the key to improving the performance characteristics and trouble-free operation of vestibule furniture.

Tambourate edging

For gluing tambourate parts, PVC edges with a thickness of 1.5-3 mm are mainly used. If Eurolight sheets are covered with 8 mm thick slabs, the edge can be applied using standard technology without any preparatory measures. For all other cases, it is recommended to additionally use a support edge, which is a flexible tape made of foamed ABS, the thickness of which is 3 mm. It serves as a reliable basis for subsequent application of decorative polyvinyl chloride edges to the ends.

Regardless of the thickness of the facing sheets, you should not use melamine edges to finish the ends of tambourate parts. If Eurolight panels have a decorative coating of natural veneer, then strips of similar veneer of the appropriate width are used to cover the ends, and it is advisable to apply the veneer to the supporting edge of ABS. In this case, the lining of the ends of the veneered vestibule is carried out before applying varnish to the front surfaces in order to avoid repeated paintwork.

Tambourate panels

Wall panels made of tambourate make it possible to decorate a room to your liking, without waiting for grueling repair work. With the help of plates you can place accents in the interior and zone the room to your liking.

Lightweight and easy to install tambourate panels:

  • Does not require wall preparation;
  • Does not require finishing;
  • They do not differ in appearance from expensive wooden ones.

The plates are easy to care for and very diverse - when producing panels to order, we will help you choose a product that will easily fit into the environment or, on the contrary, form an attractive contrast with it. A tandem of wall panels and vestibule furniture sets is popular.

Radiator grilles made of tambourate will improve existing communications: even old bulky batteries can be hidden under reliable plates. DM-Decor will produce panels according to your dimensions, taking into account the desired design features and preferred colors.

Radiator grilles will prevent burns, isolating the batteries from the curious, and will increase heat transfer in the cold season. They are unpretentious, affordable and easy to install. The plates do not interfere with air flow, do not accumulate dust and do not deteriorate. Tamburat protective screens are safe even for animals and younger family members.

FEATURES OF TAMBURATE PROCESSING

Like any other innovative product, lightweight furniture boards produced by Egger have their own nuances in processing throughout the entire technological process chain for the production of furniture parts.

Let's start with format cutting. The whole subtlety of this operation lies in the relative fragility of the material itself and the low specific strength near the ends, because The strengthening effect of honeycombs in these places is minimal. Accordingly, no difficulties will arise with equipment that does not create pressure on the slab during processing. For example, these are format-cutting machines with a movable carriage. At centers where the material is picked up and fed automatically, it is necessary to monitor the pressure on the plate. Typically this applies to the material feed collets and the pressure bar.

The next difficult operation is edge banding. A distinctive feature of the edge banding of the Eurolight board with a thickness of outer layers of 9 mm is the fact that the edge is glued directly to the outer layers. Adhesion at a thickness of 9 mm is sufficient to securely hold the edge. Here special attention should be paid to the thickness of the edge. Considering the fact that the center of the edge falls on the void of the slab, it is possible to use only a thick edge, which, with its rigidity, can prevent subsidence into the slab: for a 38mm thick slab, the minimum edge thickness is 1.5-2mm, for a thickness of 50mm - 2mm, for a thickness of 60mm - 3mm. It is only possible to use an edge with a thinner thickness when using embedded strips or a supporting edge.

For specific fittings mounted at the end of the slab, most often these are door hinges and console shelf holders; it is also necessary to install embedded strips in the slab. The technological chain for installing embeds in tamburat begins with the operation of format cutting. The slab is cut into a detailed row with a certain allowance for overall dimensions. Then the milling operation is carried out. In the outer layers, a quarter is selected whose depth corresponds to the parameters of the embedded parts required in the design. Both wooden blocks and planks cut from chipboard or MDF can be used as direct embedded strips. It all depends on the required geometric parameters. The embeds are prepared in advance, and after milling the quarters, they are mounted into the slab using glue. To speed up the curing process of the glue and prevent the appearance of different thicknesses of the slab, it is advisable to carry out the gluing operation on a press. After complete curing of the glue and technological exposure, the time of which depends on the mode of pressing and glue, the resulting parts are trimmed along the perimeter to the exact size to remove possible unevenness in the installation of the embedded parts.

After which, the remaining necessary operations are carried out as usual: edge banding, drilling, etc. All of the above operations are carried out at Credo using high-tech Homag equipment, which allows us to achieve good results in terms of accuracy and quality of finished products from lightweight furniture boards.

In some cases, the product design requires the use of curved panels. Most often this concerns office furniture. Tamburate can also be processed in the same way. But it is possible to carry out this operation efficiently only at processing centers. The use of hand tools is difficult due to the large thickness of the material.
